ILR - Dependent visa

Post by Rocky24484 » Mon Jun 10, 2019 9:29 pm

Hi,

I have received my ILR in January 2019. my wife and first child has visa until next year Jan.
when applied for my second child's visa, in May he was granted visa for the duration 8 months matching with my wife's visa. I am a bit confused. as most of my friends dependents visa was issued for a minimum of 2 and half years. in their case they have applied for both mother and child. but in my case I had to apply for my second when my wife has a visa.

could you please suggest if the visa issued for my second child is correct? considering I was the main sponsor (has an ILR) but visa was issued based on the expiry date of my wife's. I am so confused. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Regards,
R.

Presumably your spouse is still on a tier 2 dependent visa??

The child will only get a visa valid till the expiry of your dependent spouse and presumably also got a tier 2 dependent visa.

Hi,

thank you for quick response.

Yes My spouse is and first child is on Tier 2 dependent visa.

and my second child was issued same tier 2 visa.

so I will have to apply for all 3 dependent's visa extensions before Jan then :(

thanks very much for clarifying :)
