ILR holder absence question

Post by VirtualWaver » Thu Apr 25, 2019 7:59 pm

Hi Guys,

I am a ILR holder.

Will I have any issues if I will be absent from the UK for 1 month? My company wants to send me to our headquarters in the US to attend company training, etc.

Also, If I travel to EU or US once in a while (like for 1-2 weeks every 3-4 months) for business purposes as required by my employer, will I have any issues with my ILR or future naturalisation?

Could you please confirm that when it says "ILR will lapse if the holder was absent for more than 2 years" it means that if the holder will be absent for 2 years in one go? Thanks.

Yes, 2 years in one go.

Short trips out of the UK are fine.

Note that for citizenship if you wish to apply, there are separate absence limits.
