ILR husband applying for wife's visa online? Priority service??

Pre-Covid, the service standard was 'aiming to process within 60 working days' but that was more of a ballpark figure as every application is different and 6 months was not uncommon. Nowadays with the pandemic in the mix, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Yes letter from employer is a MUST and doesn’t matter as long as you have an adequate accommodation which can accommodate both of you.

You are getting wrong information!! No priority option takes 1 week, the target for priority from
Abroad is 30WD.

(2) I was renting in UK (2010-21). but left that as I came home (abroad), to save on rent. My last UK rent was in Jan. 2021. Can I still apply for wife's "family visa" or will I need to show backdated accommodation proof? I can easily find a new place to rent (via SpareRoom or primelocation) before we apply for her and show a new rent agreement (and update that address on my bank and work docs)? https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/partner-spouse does not mention anything about address, only marriage, financial and english requirements.

You only need to show that you have adequate accommodation available for you and your wife. So tenancy agreement and letter of no objection from your landlord should suffice.

(3) Can I stay here in India and apply for her? or should I return to UK alone first, find a new place and stay there in case HO comes to check address? and she applies online and joins me when all is done??? [I do not wish to return now while India is on covid19 red list as my employer won't pay hotel quarantine].

Your choice but you can be abroad while your application is pending. The issue would be, how do you intend to meet the financial requirement?

(4) lastly, can she otherwise come with me on a tourist/visitor visa and maybe after a few months we switch her to family visa? No, you cannot switch from within U.K while on a visiting visa although the UKVI gives concession and this is for people who are unable to return to their home country.

(5) she is employed here. guess best is for her not to leave this job till her visa is granted? will lead to her serving her notice period so would waste 1-2 months of uk visa but better this than leaving job too early? If your wife application was to be successful then you will be given 90 days to travel to the U.K so she can plan it thoroughly.

Thanks, so instead of rushing we can do the visa on priority to get it in 30 days and once she gets visa she can serve her job notice period of 2 months to arrive in UK under 90 days.

I am not renting anywhere in UK now but can get a place and NOC a few weeks before submitting the visa application. I am still employed in UK and working remotely so have bank statements and payslips as financial earnings proof. I get £40k annually so should be above the financial earnings required?

and we need:
- me to find a new UK place to rent in Sept., with rent agreement and landlord NOC (this may be tricky as for a brand new landlord they may want to meet me personally in UK and have my stuff moved in before giving the NOC etc instead of me in India and my UK belongings stored at a friend's house and me just renting an empty flat from new landlord),
- a company letter from my employer mentioning my job title and earnings, maybe??
- does she need an employer letter too for her job outside UK?
- her IELTS or Eccts cert proving her english degree,
- her TB test.
