Ilr priority questions

Post by sfs20 » Mon Jul 20, 2020 7:13 pm

Hi All,

I have been reading the posts on the ILR forum for a few weeks now and really appreciate all the helpful info from @CR001 and @Zimba

I am preparing to apply for my ILR however I had the following questions and was hoping someone can shed some light on them:

1. Is there is any indication IF and when the priority or super priority service from UKVI will resume?
2. Once I apply is it possible to travel outside UK? My mother is unwell, and I worry if something happens to her I won't be able to travel overseas.
3. Is it advisable that I apply via the standard route now or wait for the priority service to resume?
4. Is it possible to withdraw standard application at any time if the priority service resumes and reapply under the priority route? Do we get refunded the application fees?
5. I studied the timelines of various ILR applications and it is rare for people to have received a decision in a very short turnaround. Are there any estimates as to how long it would take? Am i being pessimistic in expecting it will be a 6 month turnaround for the standard service?

Thank you very much.

1. No there is not.

2. If you leave the UK while you have an application pending, your application will be considered withdrawn. When does your current visa expire and on what basis are you planning to apply for ilr?

3. That is a choice only you can make.

4. Yes, provided you have not enrolled biometrics and assuming priority is available. If you have enrolled biometrics, you don't get your fee back.

5. Usually 8 weeks but bear in mind that UKVI and UKCVAS are dealing with an enormous backlog of applications and you will join the queue if you apply now.

Thanks for the clarification. Much appreciated.

2. My Visa is valid December, however I complete 5 years from date of first entry now. Applying on the basis Tier 2 (general).
