ILR query

Hello,

I am due to apply for my ILR online. Clear case, tier 2 general, no gaps.

I wanted to know can only me and spouse apply for ILR now and apply for visa extension for my kids. Will home office create any issues with our application?

Is it true that I can directly apply for British citizenship for the kids after the required time and post both me and my wife getting ILR.

Why do that? Why not apply for ilr for them?
