Long story short my husbands application for ILR was refused in Oct 2015 said we used the wrong forms and applied again, They kept all the documents ie; Marriage licence, passports, husbands id card, all the kids and my birth certs. Just before easter 2016 they wrote looking the kids birth certs and the marriage licence, sent forms back stating they already had these as they where kept from the 1st application, Today got a letter asking for me to prove i am a british citizen and for the kids british passports or other travel document which proves they are british too, I hold dual nationality i have an Irish passport and so do my kids I was born in N.IRELAND before Jan 1983 my parents where born in N.IRELAND which means i am a British citizen...My question is how do i prove im a british citizen without a passport? Is my birth cert not enough it states the date i was born and the town/country..I dont want to just send a letter explaining about my birth cert and the 1983 law regarding british nationality as the letter also stated if i did not send the required info in 6 days the application would be considered based on the info they hold
