Switching from FLR FP to FLR M

Post by AlexWN » Sun Nov 10, 2019 4:32 pm

The home office granted me a FLR FL for 30 months(unmarried partner route) after successful appeal back 2018.

My question is can I apply/switch my visa to FLR M while still on FLR FP? And how my future ILR application will affect this route?

Many thanks

Of course you can switch. Just make sure you meet all requirements. Fiance. English test etc.

Your ILR clock will reset again so you'll need to count your FLRM as the first 2.5 years then extend.

If you've spent 10yrs legally then you can settle after 10 years legal residency.

Husband's timeline - overstayer 11 yrs
08/16 - FLR (FP) Partner, refused 02/18, 03/18 - JR permission refused with merit
08/18 - FLR FP (Partner) PSC - Approved
07/20 - FLR FP to FLR M Switch - Approved, 03/23 FLR M Ext Approved.

Thanks bathanza

So if my 2.5 years grant, I have to wait for another 10 years to apply for ILR?

If you switch to FLR M, you have to wait 5 years on FLR M before you can apply for ilr. The time.on FLR fp doesn't count towards the 5 years.

Visa fee is £1033 and IHS is £1000. The £800 super priority is in addition to those.

You cant apply by post anymore.

You need to apply online and select standard service and then book the bio appointment and identity check with ukcvas, which is usually an 8 week processing time.

Everything is uploaded online. Nothing gets posted to ho anymore.

The good old days are gone :) No in person premium service either you do have priority processing which is 24 WORKING hours so you may get a decision within 3 days.

You apply online for FLR(M) and the service you choose is given towards the end before you pay. there is no link to apply for premium service only.

I was able to switch successfully from flr fp to flr fm that is I was on 10yr partner route before but i was able to switch to 5 yr partner route by fulfulling financial and english exam, I filled the same flr fp form I included all evidence to show that I fulfil the 5yr route and I was granted 30 months on 5yr route today. That means my first 2.5yrs didn't count after 5yrs of meeting the same requirements I can now apply for ilr.

Yes because the ILR clock set to zero when you obtained your leave under 5 years route. Time spent under flrfp & flrm cannot be combined to apply ILR after 5 years rather can be combined under long residence route for ILR after 10 years.

Start/continue in your own thread. Anyways whenever you can meet the criteria may apply flrm without waiting the flrfp to expire.
