UK spouse VISA Cat 'C' Bank Statement Query

Post by wam » Sat Feb 23, 2019 8:41 pm

Hi Guys,

I need a quick help.

I am applying for the spouse visa next month. I am applying under Category C (Section 6.4) Financial Requirement (i.e. Using my PhD tax free stipend). I am planning to submit 7 months bank statements and corresponding 7 last payslips showing the amount being payed into my personal bank account.

However, I am confused about the point (ii) mentioned on Page 45 of FM 1.7 Appendix document:

(g) Maintenance grant or stipend income (not a loan) associated with
undergraduate study or postgraduate study or research:

(i) Documentation from the body or company awarding the grant or stipend confirming
that the person is currently in receipt of the grant or stipend or will be within 3 months of the date of application, confirming that the grant or stipend will be paid for a period of at least 12 months or at least one full academic year, from the date of application or from the date on which payment of the grant or stipend will commence, and confirming the annual amount of the grant or stipend. Where the grant or stipend is or will be paid on a tax-free basis, the gross equivalent amount may be counted as income.

(ii) Personal bank statements for any part of the 12-month period prior to the date of the application during which the person has been in receipt of the grant or stipend showing the income was paid into the person's account.

Would 7 months bank statement be acceptable in regard to the point (ii)?

Thanks.

Kind Regards,
Wam

UK spouse VISA from Pakistan, URGENT. "Scanned at VAC or Post to Sheffield"

Post by wam » Wed Feb 27, 2019 11:03 pm

Hi Guys,

Me and my wife are applying for spouse visa soon. I am based in UK and my wife in Pakistan. I have an urgent query regarding how the supporting documents are going to be submitted after Biometric appointment. On the VFS global website [https://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/pk/en/how-to-apply] it says that all the supporting documents are to be scanned with barcode separator at the VAC but its not clear yet. Since on the forums everyone says it needs to be posted by the Sponser (me in our case) to Sheffield.

Bring all supporting documentation (originals and copies), sorted and separated according to the supporting documents guidelines

Can anyone please help? Do I have to send all the documents I have with me in UK to my wife in Pakistan and she'll have to take all of them with her when she'll go for her biometric appointment or I have to post them to Sheffield after she has done her biometric appointment ?

Some help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Kind Regards,
WAM.

Your wife just need to bring the print out of online application form and her original passport when enrolling biometrics. Then you (sponsor) will have to send all original documents to sheffield. That website is confusing in a way because a lot of other categories applications are also dealt there.

UK Spouse Visa Urgent Bank Branch Query

Post by wam » Thu Feb 28, 2019 9:00 am

Hi Guys,

Just a very quick query. I am applying for my Spouse's VISA soon. I have got my original account with Bank of Scotland because I used to live in Scotland but I have been in England for last 2.5yrs and I do all my bank related business with Halifax because there is no Bank of Scotland branch near me. Halifax and Bank of Scotland are both part of the same Lloyds Banking Group which is a well-known fact.

So, the bank account statement I have got issued is done in the Halifax branch on their letter head. Do you think that'll be an issue and HO will not like it? Obviously the bank statement mentions my bank account number and sort code.

Thanks.

UK spouse visa tenancy agreement

Post by wam » Fri Mar 01, 2019 10:25 am

Hi guys,

Just a very quick question. I live in a rented apartment. The tenancy agreement is obviously based on a couple of pages and stamped and signed by the agent and myself on the last page. Do I need to get every page stamped from the agency or that is ok ?

Thanks

As long as its signed by both parties then should be fine. However, if you wish then can stamp its every page but only for your own piece of mind.

UK Spouse visa relationship documents check

Post by wam » Sat Mar 02, 2019 10:08 am

Hi Guys,

Can anyone please provide some guidance on relationship docs. Are they enough?

A. 30ish Photos (Personal meetings, Engagement, Wedding and Family Gatherings).
B. Flight confirmations from my visits (2016-2019).
C. Whatsapp Screenshots (60ish: twice each month over 2.5yrs).
D. Facebook Messages and Calls Screenshots (30ish: once each month).
E. Facebook video call logs screenshots (around 25).
F. Skype call log screenshots (around 6)
E. Emails Screenshots (around 10).

And should the messages be blacked out and it should show date, time and number?

Also, in WhatsApp should the applicant take screenshots or the sponsor can do it too?

Thanks.

Kind Regards.

Seems fine but make sure that all these evidences start from the date when your relationship begin. Don't black out/edit/hide any message and preferably take the screenshots in that angle where its shows date & time. Either of you can take whatsapp screen shots.

Post by wam » Sun Mar 03, 2019 7:48 am

Hi Guys ,

Just a quick one. I have a dual nationality, British and Pakistani. As a Sponsor, bio-page copy of British passport is enough or I need to provide copies of my other nationality passport too?

Thanks

UK Spouse Visa: Sponsor's Support Letter

Post by wam » Sun Mar 03, 2019 9:44 pm

Hi Guys,

I have received great help from this forum regarding spouse visa application. I(Sponsor) and my wife(Applicant) are in final stages of the visa application. I have written a sponsorship/relationship support cover letter. If anyone can please have a quick look through it and suggest if anything is missing.

Thanks.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Support Letter for Spouse VISA Application

Sponsor’s name, /03/2019
Sponsor’s address,
UK.

Dear Sir or Ma’am,

Re: Application for a UK Settlement Spouse VISA

I am writing to confirm my sponsorship of my wife Applicant’s name for her spousal visa to join me in the United Kingdom.

I am a British national by descent and have lived in the UK since September 2015. I was born in Pakistan and lived there until my graduation (B.Eng.). I moved to the UK to pursue an MSc degree from the XXX University. After completing my MSc, I moved to xxx city in October 2016 to start my PhD studies on a fully funded scholarship at the xxx University.

I will be using my PhD studentship tax-free stipend (Maintenance Grant Scholarship) to meet the financial requirement under Category ‘C’. I am currently in a receipt of a stipend of £xxx per annum, received on monthly basis in advance for every upcoming month. My original stipend was £yyy which was raised to £xxx w.e.f. September 2018, which will continue until March 2020. I am providing the relevant supporting documents as evidence of my monthly stipend income and studentship.

I am currently renting a 1-bedroom apartment in xxx city, where I plan to have my wife living with me once she arrives in the UK. The apartment is self-contained by me, and the landlord/agent is having no objection in accommodating my wife. The original tenancy agreement and no objection letter from the landlord/agent is provided.

Applicant’s name and I went to the same secondary school in which she was a year senior to me. However, we had no interaction in the school due to different sections and grades (in 2007/2008). Long after that in April/May 2014, we first met at YYY University where I was finishing my undergraduate degree in Engineering and she was working as a Teaching Assistant in English Language Centre after graduating in BS Applied Linguistics from the ZZZ University. We instantly became friends because of our common schooling backgrounds, met a couple of times and started casually chatting over Facebook Messenger (screenshots included).

Applicant’s name finished her job contract and moved to another job in August/September 2014, while I finished my degree in December 2014 and started working at a company in Pakistan as a Trainee Engineer in May 2015. Meanwhile, Applicant’s name had already moved to a new job in xxx city, Pakistan in January 2015 where she is currently working and I moved to the UK in September 2015.

During this whole time, Applicant’s name and I remained in casual contact and in June 2016 while I was doing my MSc dissertation, our friendship grew, and we started chatting on a daily basis and started liking each other. I was planning to visit Pakistan to see my family in August/September 2016 and we met in xxx city, Pakistan and spent the whole day together (flight ticket copy provided). We met a couple of times more during my visit and I came back to the UK and our long conversations and video calls started (screenshots provided). In December 2016, right after Christmas, I proposed to her, and we entered into a long-distance relationship.

We continued our relationship via Facebook, WhatsApp and Skype (screenshots provided). During my second visit to Pakistan in August 2017, she came to receive me at the airport, and we met a number of times during my stay (flight ticket copy and pictures provided). Both of us like having good traditional Pakistani food so we went to different restaurants/food streets together and loved each other’s presence and company throughout. I came back to the UK and we decided to take this relationship to the next stage and get officially engaged. We revealed to our parents in June/July 2018 about our relationship and that we want to be together, our families met and during my next visit to Pakistan in August-September 2018, we got engaged on 8th September 2018 (flight ticket copy and ceremony pictures provided). Upon my return to the UK we started planning our wedding and her joining me in the UK.

I found a suitable self-contained apartment in December 2018 where we both can live together once she arrives in the UK (my current address). We finalised the wedding date, 26th January 2019, I visited Pakistan for around 9 days to get married to her in our hometown. The wedding ceremony was held at the X Hotel (pictures and invitation card provided).

Following are the documents provided with the application required for sponsorship:

• Attested bio page of my UK passport.
• Postgraduate student status letter.
• PhD studentship funding offer letter, new and old, attested by the postgraduate support officer.
• Letter from studentship support officer confirming the student status, term time, stipend amount and up until when it will be received (original on university letterhead, signed and stamped).
• 12 previous stipend payslips (original attested and signed by the studentship support officer).
• 12 Months personal bank statement (original printed in a branch on their letterhead and stamped every page).
• Original current tenancy agreement.
• No objection letter from the letting agent/landlord.
• Utility bills confirming the current address.
• Facebook/WhatsApp/Skype/Email screenshots to show conversations.
• Pictures from our visits together, pictures from engagement and wedding ceremony, and with family.

I am thankful to you for taking out time to go through this letter of support and your trust in us that the provided information is genuine and we have had a very strong relationship. I hope the evidence provided is sufficient for the application and that I am fully capable of supporting my wife when she comes to the UK.

Applicant’s name has included my UK contact details in section x of the application form. Should you require any further information from me please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Yours faithfully,
Sponsor’s name and sign

UK spouse visa: Appendix 2 Cat 'C' query

Post by wam » Tue Mar 05, 2019 3:40 pm

Hi guys,

I am fulfilling the financial requirement for the spouse visa under category C using my PhD tax-free stipend. Just a confirmation regarding filling Appendix 2 form. I just have to answer Section 3.61, 3.62 and 3.63 in Part 3D of the form, right?

Also, the answer for 3.62 will be no?

Thanks
