immigration health surcharge - Assisted Conception

Post by vicky1984 » Mon Jun 14, 2021 11:40 pm

Hi friends, I come across below as part of assisted conception exclusion as per IHS guidelines.

Assisted conception services are defined in the Charging Regulations as any medical, surgical or obstetric services provided for the purpose of assisting a person to carry a child. Broadly speaking, this means any medicines, surgery or procedures that are required to diagnose and treat infertility so a person can have a child. It includes procedures such as intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and egg and sperm donation.

Kindly can anyone help me to know that - As per above does this mean only IVF or IUI procedures are chargeable to migrants who paid IHS or Does it also means initial fertility test/diagnosis like semen analysis, cervical scanning are also chargeable?

Any advice will be a lot of help

Thanks

You have to pay for ivf. Even British citizens have to pay for it.

Thanks CR001,

Actually my main question do I have to pay for fertility test like semen analysis as well if the GP requested for it?
