Indefinite Leave To Remain upon arrival in UK

Post by Raindear26 » Thu May 19, 2016 10:50 am

The boyfriend of my daughter already got ILR visa when he came in UK almost 4 years ago now. Can he already apply for British Citizen?

What category of visa does he hold? Your thread title is confusing. What do you mean by 'upon arrival'? :?

No, as he isn't married to a British citizen (assuming he is over 18 now).

He is 21 now. He was a dependent of his father and was granted indefinite leave to remain before coming to UK.

Suggest read up on the requirements for naturalisation under section 6(1) of BNA.

Vinny is correct. 5 years residence is required, with B1 level English and a Life in the UK certificate + standard requirements including absence, good character etc.

No, as it's not sufficient to meet the residency rule for BC.
