i am in same situation as you. i applied for ILR in october 6th and i'm still waiting.
the waiting is really frustrating and at the moment i have no job as all my documents are still with HO.
i will advice you don't request your passport back from home office as you application will be withdrawn.
you only have 2 months to go and i'm sure its worth the wait.
i will like to know if anybody on a 10 years long route for ILR october application by standard post have got the approval

I have checked for a Biometric letter almost everyday but no sign. I have called the home office who told me to email two email with no reply apart from an automated email telling me to basically wait. I am panicking and losing sleep over this and I have a baby on the way. Can anyone PLEASE let me know if this is odd or if there is anything I can do. I am at my wits end!
