Reusing Tier 2 Pearson English Test for ILR

Hi everyone,

For my Tier 2 General visa English requirements, I recently gave the test conducted by Pearson – it’s “PTE Academic for UKVI”. This was a comprehensive test on Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening skills.

Now for my ILR, I wanted to use same certificate but I see that Pearson also conducts a different test for ILR (Settlement) purpose - it's called “PTE Home B1” test – and to me it looks like much easier test than what I gave.

I was wondering if I can use PTE Academic for UKVI for ILR purpose next year? I am hoping that since for Tier 2 visa I have already evidenced English skills (in a tougher exam than what ILR usually need), I might not have to give another test just for ILR?

You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if both of the following are true:

it’s on the current list of recognised tests
it was accepted for another UK immigration application, for example when you got permission to enter

Thank you for replying Seagul. I noticed that both PTE Home B1 (ILR Test of Pearson) and PTE Academic for UKVI (T2 G Test of Pearson) are mentioned in the recognised list of B1.

I think that since I have already used PTE Academic for UKVI in my T2 Gen visa application, I will be able to reuse it for ILR as well. I hope my understanding is correct?
