Right to work

Post by Squadron1 » Fri Mar 01, 2019 9:33 am

Why does it take 6 months for ILR application? And also, can I work whilst waiting for the decision as my application has been received since October?

You mean you applied ILR in October and still are waiting?

The standard time for ILR is 6 months. No one can tell if it takes longer or lesser. Depends on individual cases.

However, you are protected by Section 3c and your right to work continues until a decision is made on your ILR application (given you made an intime application).

Also useful to state what route to ILR you have applied and what your immigration history is

As advised already, you right to work continues. You might have difficulty in changing employment though.
