ILR Fees Payment modes - VISA debit

Post by kaimala » Fri Oct 05, 2018 3:21 pm

Hi Gurus/moderators,

I am eligible to apply ILR using SET(O) form in April 2019. I am hoping to get a priority appointment and planning to fill the form and take it with me for the appointment. As you can see I have to pay 2999£ for the application.

My reason for confusion is the below section in SET(O) which explains the different modes of payment

How Can You Pay?
You must pay by one of the methods specified below.
• Cheque (postal applications only)
• Postal Order (postal applications only)
• Credit card - Visa (including Electron), MasterCard or American Express (Amex)
• Debit card - Delta, Maestro* (including Solo)
• Banker’s draft (payable to the Home Office) (postal applications only)
* Maestro - we will accept any Maestro card if you are applying in person at a Premium Service
Centre but only Maestro cards issued in the UK if you are applying by post or courier.

I have an HSBC account and as far as i understand; they only issue a VISA debit & credit cards. My VISA credit card does not have a high limit and my debit card is not a VISA. I have seen posts where people are saying that the payment is taken fine etc in the past. I dont see any recent posts with this though.

Could anyone be able to help me here with this please? Will it be an issue or should i have to open a new account just to have a Delta/Maestro card.

Many thanks if you could help me here

Regards,

GOD Such a stupid thing to do! :| :|

What i meant was 'my VISA credit card does not have a high limit and my debit card is a VISA not Delta or Maestro' and the notification says Delta and Maestro are the only cards permitted in Debit category

ILR Date of application- New system & other details needed for submission

Post by kaimala » Mon Dec 10, 2018 6:03 pm

Hi Moderators/Gurus,

I have gone through most of the posts regarding new system in the forum, however i am unable to get answer to one doubt and hence this post.
(Now that i am posting anyway, thought I might as well run through all the assumptions I have up till this moment, just to make sure I am good to go)

I am assuming I am eligible for the ILR on 01/04/2019.
Details of VISA
1) Tier 2 General
2) Visa start date: 29/04/2014
3) Not crossed 180 days barrier in any years (rarely travelled outside the country)
4) Salary is well above the eligible limit

I have the below documents in hand at the moment

1) LIUK pass
2) UKNARIC letter (English Language Proficiency statement & Academic Qualification Level statement) Academic Qualification Level statement specifies my degree is equivalent to a UK Degree.

I am planning to collect the below docs in the run up to the day
1) 3 recent Payslips
2) 3 recent bank statements; I get paper copies by post
3) Letter from Employer specifying my job details and that I am needed in this role for the 'near foreseeable future'. (Role, salary, employment details SOC code to be included, same details as COS)
4) Absence letter from Employer
5) Make a covering letter

Queries:
1) Do I need any other letter from NARIC for the language requirement or is that a standard format accepted by Home office?
2) Do I need to get Bank statements attested from the bank? Or the postal statements sent by the bank suffice?
3) Am I correct in calculating my eligibility date as 01st April 2019?
4) If Yes to the 3rd question, can i fill and submit the online form before 01st April, say 29th March and request for an appointment on 01st or 2nd April? Will my submission be too early for the date if i did so? I read in many places that the appointment date is what we should be bothered about, not the online submission.
5) We were planning to go for the one appointment that costs around 3000£, the old premium day appointment, however I am honestly confused which one is it now, Which is the best way to get the fastest results (24 hours as they said in many places). Is that priority/super priority. I just don't want to confuse with the different words used for the different kind of appointments. Kindly help!
6) How long does it usually take for the 3000£ appointment if we took it. (We are looking to travel on 2nd week of April as its school holidays and we are bit worried it might be too early evenif we book a 11-14th April ticket? )

Thanks in advance,

Thank you cyclina for the response. All the time i assumed i have eligibility on 01st April.

Could you kindly answer my 4th query; am rephrasing it.

5) the quickest now is 24 hours after you attend the appointment>>Could you kindly guide me which one it will be in sopra steria (I am not getting much help from google on what types of appointments are available from them)

Apologies if i am asking a stupid question

Thanks & Regards,
I would suggest you pay and submit your application once you are in the qualifying period. The online submission date is the application date usually. But there is already a lot of confusion if they will take the appointment date as the application date (in case of super priority 24 hours visa).
Many members who posted on this forum are already caught up in the same situation so I would suggest you only pay and submit on/after 2nd April. Once you will submit you can get an appointment within 5 days. You can get same day/next day appointments also if you pay more.

Once you pay and submit you have to book an appointment/upload documents through sopra steria. The 24 hours visa is called super priority. But again many members have posted that they are not receiving it within 24 hours even when they paid for it. Some posted they had to wait for few days or weeks.

You can always start filling your form whenever you like. The form will let you return back to edit it etc. Just hit the sbmit button and pay once your in the qualifying period.

SET (O) Form- Tier 2 General to ILR: some queries

Post by kaimala » Fri Mar 15, 2019 3:36 pm

hi Moderators, experienced members,

I am due to apply for my ILR start of April 2019.

While filling up the SET (O) form, I had some basic queries (but quite important, I reckon)

1) Do I need to get the letter from employer for all leaves I have ever taken, or only for the ones I have been outside of UK?
2) Additional countries that I have lived in section
a) Should I mention my birth country as well
b) I had small business trips outside of my country of birth. Those span in periods of less than 2 months- should i be mentioning them as countries I have lived? (These trips were before I moved to UK on Tier 2)
3) Most of my flights have transited via Dubai, however i have never stayed for more than couple of hours at airport and never visited the country (and hence no border stamps), should I be mentioning them- I am bit confused as it says specifically to mention transits

Could any of you kindly advice,

Many Thanks in advance & Regards,

Post by CR001 » Fri Mar 15, 2019 3:38 pm

1. Absence from UK only.

2a. Yes

2b. No, they are 'visits' not 'residence/lived'.

3. No need to mention transit cities.

Post by kaimala » Fri Mar 15, 2019 4:00 pm

Many Thanks CR001.

I have just another doubt related to the first question.

Should I be mentioning the difference between the dates i entered to UK and Visa issue date as an absence from UK in employer letter?

For eg: Visa was issued on 18 Dec 2018 and the person entered on 26th Dec 2018. Since the eligibility is calculated from the Visa issue date and the gap needs to be mentioned as an absence isnt it?
Should i just need to mention it in my SET (O) OR both SET(O) & employer absences letter.

Kindly confirm.

Many thanks & Regards

ILR- Salary revision in the last month & Date of Entry

Post by kaimala » Mon Mar 18, 2019 2:20 pm

Hi Gurus,

I am due to apply ILR in April 2019. (Apologies if this question is already asked however i could not find anything related to this one specifically)

I was well above my salary Requirement as per SOC code. And today I have had a salary revision letter receiving from my Employer. This is an yearly revision and happens by mid February but they did it March due to some constrains. My queries are
1) whether it affects my application, as it looks like a last minute salary revision before ILR (Although i am eligible without that anyway)
2) Also the payslip of March (which will be the one I am submitting as the latest) will have arrears from previous month (As it included Feb hike as well) and am afraid that won't be in tandem with the hike letter.
3) Another query is regarding the date of my entry. I entered UK on a Saturday and started working with my Employer the very next Monday. Employer is insisting that they would give the start of employment as Monday (in the employer letter), however my passport stamp would be showing Saturday. Would it look doubtful for the caseworker to have this mismatch. Is it worth sending a cover-letter with the application to explain this? Also i am not sure whether we can put the cover letter in the new appointment system as you don't have a caseworker but a Sopra Steria employee just taking your data.

Kindly advice.

Many thanks in advance,
Regards,

Is it the annual all employees salary review or only you??

A letter from employer should be sufficient.

You are overthinking. The form asks for the date you ENTERED the UK, not the date you started your job. If you entered the UK with a valid Tier 2 visa, then why do you believe there is an issue??

Is it the annual all employees salary review or only you?? - It is for everyone, normal annual salary revision, but they do it on the date of joining for each of us and hence mine is falling at this time.
2) Also the payslip of March (which will be the one I am submitting as the latest) will have arrears from previous month (As it included Feb hike as well) and am afraid that won't be in tandem with the hike letter.

A letter from employer should be sufficient.- I see, that settles it then

- I read a query from someone in this forum saying that their employer letter says date of entry and thats same as DOJ and hence my worry. As you said, maybe i am panicking as the dates are drawing nearer

Thanks a ton for answering my queries

Tier 2 general docs for ILR & Home office reference number

Post by kaimala » Wed Apr 03, 2019 12:38 pm

HI All,

I am due to ILR this week and was almost done with my online application. I had printed out the form to verify the details (Downloadable pdf). Towards the end of it there are the list of docs we need to submit etc.

1)The last item in that list was something like below

For the period before you were granted leave as a Tier 2 migrant, documents showing that you met the relevant requirements of the immigration rules. For further information concerning the evidence required, please refer to the tier 2 migrant policy guidelines on the website

I am surprised none of the forums no the UK gov website mentioned about these set of documents . I do have my previous COS numbers and offer letter etc. however I might have lost maintenance letter (from A rated sponsor) and the Tuberculosis screening certificate etc. I am quite worried to see this at the last minute

Could you kindly help

2) There was another query on the application too
Do you have any home office reference numbers
And if you say yes
It has a section with below question.
Enter any home office reference numbers

I do have my Tier 2 general extension reference number with me(the one that came on the BRP letter), is it good to give that or should say No and leave that blank?

Kindly help

Many thanks & Regards,

This is only required if you are combining time on Tier 1 with Tier 2 to make up 5 years. It is not relating to your Tier 2 period.

Thank you to this forum and all the moderators here; especially CR001, I have submitted my online application and documents and received a letter from Home office saying ILR is approved on the 2nd working day. :D :D
The process was quite smooth with no issues at all. It is been 1.5 weeks and I am still waiting for my BRP Card, hopefully will be here this week (Hoping that holidays have delayed it maybe).

A big thank you to all you guys and all the best to all of you who are going for an application.

Regards,
