For anyone whose permission to stay in Ireland expires between 20 March and 20 May,
the immigration status is automatically extended for 2 months.
This period will be recognised as reckonable residence if your current permission counts towards reckonable residence.
This applies to everyone who has a valid permission to reside in Ireland (Stamp 0 - 5), permission to temporarily stay in Ireland (tourists, business trips, family visits), people who are still waiting for a decision letter, people who are waiting for an appointment to do their first registration.
There is no need to make an appointment with your local Garda station or Burgh Quay. All existing appointments between this period are cancelled automatically.
