Welcome.Salixruns wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 5:32 pmDoes anyone know what happens if you can't make a ceremony date? Just realising if I was in fact invited to the March 2 or 3 ones that my husband is out of the country making it a little complicated to get to Kerry for the day with the kids at home etc since kids cannot attend the ceremony.
Do you go to the bottom of the waitlist or would you be in line for the next ceremony? Anyone have any guesses on this?
Thank you.
* I apologise also if this is the wrong place to ask. I only just discovered these boards.
Very unlikely at the best of times but extremely unlikely since the announcement of the impending election.SouthAfricanNomad wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 6:16 pmI rang them today and was told my application has been submitted to the minister.
Likelihood of being included in the next ceremony?
How does the impending elections on the 8th of Feb affect the ceremonies in March?atc wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 10:35 pmVery unlikely at the best of times but extremely unlikely since the announcement of the impending election.SouthAfricanNomad wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 6:16 pmI rang them today and was told my application has been submitted to the minister.

It won't affect the ceremonies in March by the looks of things but will very likely mean no further submissions to the minister will take place or be approved until after the election.Bealtaine wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 10:46 pmHow does the impending elections on the 8th of Feb affect the ceremonies in March?atc wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 10:35 pmVery unlikely at the best of times but extremely unlikely since the announcement of the impending election.SouthAfricanNomad wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 6:16 pmI rang them today and was told my application has been submitted to the minister.

Sorry, yes. Why though? Because the elections will happen before new citizens can get a chance to vote?atc wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 10:55 pmIt won't affect the ceremonies in March by the looks of things but will very likely mean no further submissions to the minister will take place or be approved until after the election.Bealtaine wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 10:46 pmHow does the impending elections on the 8th of Feb affect the ceremonies in March?atc wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 10:35 pmVery unlikely at the best of times but extremely unlikely since the announcement of the impending election.SouthAfricanNomad wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 6:16 pmI rang them today and was told my application has been submitted to the minister.

That's great! Did u post a timeline anywhere ? It may be useful to others to compare. Hopefully means I'll hear something soon about mine
No I haven't posted a timeline yet. But my husband applied for his citizenship on July 7th 2019. Got his acceptance letter on January 7th, so exactly 6 months and are waiting for a letter of invitation for a ceremony.
Because the minister may no longer be the same after that It's quite a big question mark at the moment who will be able to form the government after the election.
Maybe, but it doesn't matter. Once the minister approves your application and invites you to the ceremony, it is the judge who swears you in, not the minister. The judge won't be replaced after an election.
They are really busy processing all the applications. Most of the cases are processed within the 12 months time frame and they make it crystal clear that people should not be contacting them unless it's really important or urgent.Sailorden wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 2:26 pmHi,
My application was received by The dept of Justice on the 25th of Feb , on the 20th March they requested further information which was received by them on the 1st of April.
Nothing further was heard so in June I sent an Email Inquiry to see if any further information was required.
Feed back was given on the 30th June by letter saying that the application had processed to stage 2, which required information from other departments to confirm that I was of good character etc. They also said I should not contact them any further unless it was absolutely necessary, so that maximum time could be devoted to processing applications.
Since then nothing has been heard.
Are April applications now receiving feedback/invitations ?
Should I be concerned?
Should I contact them again?
#feelingstressed
Anyone else got a suggestion about the next steps I should take?

There are my few friends of mine appealed February 2019 and now they received the approval Latter. Is there anyone have received approval from 2018? There will two Ceremony’s on Second and third of March is any chance to Send for us approval Latter?
This is not quite accurate. The Dail has been dissolved which technically means there are currently no ministers.
