following up the previous comments, do you guys have any idea of how it works when there's a general election before a scheduled ceremony?

Are there any implications, would the minister be replaced?

Aakaya can you advise the team, have you posted a timeline?
No I haven't posted a timeline yet. But my husband applied for his citizenship on July 7th 2019. Got his acceptance letter on January 7th, so exactly 6 months and are waiting for a letter of invitation for a ceremony.

It won't affect the ceremonies in March by the looks of things but will very likely mean no further submissions to the minister will take place or be approved until after the election.
Sorry, yes. Why though? :) Because the elections will happen before new citizens can get a chance to vote?
Because the minister may no longer be the same after that :) It's quite a big question mark at the moment who will be able to form the government after the election.

Maybe, but it doesn't matter. Once the minister approves your application and invites you to the ceremony, it is the judge who swears you in, not the minister. The judge won't be replaced after an election.

However, it does mean that all approvals will have been issued by 8 Feb.

The Department of Justice and Equality have announced that the next citizenship ceremonies are scheduled to take place on the 2nd and 3rd of March in Killarney Convention Centre.

Hi,
My application was received by The dept of Justice on the 25th of Feb , on the 20th March they requested further information which was received by them on the 1st of April.
Nothing further was heard so in June I sent an Email Inquiry to see if any further information was required.
Feed back was given on the 30th June by letter saying that the application had processed to stage 2, which required information from other departments to confirm that I was of good character etc. They also said I should not contact them any further unless it was absolutely necessary, so that maximum time could be devoted to processing applications.
Since then nothing has been heard.

Are April applications now receiving feedback/invitations ?
Should I be concerned?
Should I contact them again?
#feelingstressed

Anyone else got a suggestion about the next steps I should take?

They are really busy processing all the applications. Most of the cases are processed within the 12 months time frame and they make it crystal clear that people should not be contacting them unless it's really important or urgent.

As per checking the cases on this forum, within this time frame of 12 months, there's no specific time frame to approvals, so some people get it within 6 - 8 months, others 10 months, others 12 months and some exceptions, more than 12 months.

I will breathe in & out into a paper bag, take another cup of tea & relax!

Just continue to wait is the only option I guess...

I applied in Sept 2018. Got second stage letter finally in June 2019 and just got my letter asking for the €950 this week.
Very long process for me as I had many requests for extra documents.
I'm hoping for the March ceremony but not really expecting it as they have loads of people in their back log probably ahead of me.

Good luck to you!

This is not quite accurate. The Dail has been dissolved which technically means there are currently no ministers.

There is a clause in the constitution which essentially allows ministers a 'caretaker' role for any urgent business that needs to take place prior to the formation of the next government after the election.

No real day to day ministerial duties will be done outside of urgent business. This will not effect any previous approvals but means no further approvals will be made.

There may be approvals sitting at inis that have yet to be mailed out though.

Thank you for all your responses.

I contacted local TD to enquire on my behalf because information I am getting from INIS is ambiguous at best. I received this response:

"
Dear xxxxx

Many thanks for your email.

I brought your email to the attention of the relevant department, however, they have notified me the following:

We acknowledge receipt of your email dated 15/01/2020.

As the 32nd Dáil has been dissolved, the Oireachtas Mail service for T.D.’s is currently suspended and will become operational again as soon as the Dáil is reconvened.

Wishing you all the best,

"

I am at a total and utter loss

It looks like immigration website was updated, next ceremonies will be in Spring 2020. Previously it was said by the department beginning of the the year. According to immigration website:

"The next day of citizenship ceremonies is scheduled for Spring 2020. Details will be published here when confirmed.'

from
https://www.irishimmigration.ie/citizen ... eremonies/
The next ceremony will take on Monday the 2nd and Tuesday the 3rd of March 2020.
Confirmed on the website.

This is new to me. I didn’t find any detail online but in the UK the ministers keep their jobs until the election has actually happened. MP’s are not though.

I may be incorrect. It wouldn't be the first time.

Has everyone who applied before March 2019 and after Dec 2018 received an approval? Or are there pending applications?

The last person I spoke to over the phone said my application was with the minister. Let’s hope we are in the next batch of approvals

Hi guys.
Lets make it clear. What is approval means?
Does it mean that 950e has to be paid and send relevenat docs to Tipperary?
