Minor First Passport

Hi Everyone, Can you advise if the UK passport office will accept original Laminated Birth certificate issued from India?

Laminated documents are not accepted. This is clearly stated on their website. It doesn't matter which country the document is from.

Supporting documents
You must send original documents or official copies of certificates. Photocopies are not accepted, even ‘certified copies’.

If your documents are not in English or Welsh, you’ll need to send certified translations as well as the originals.

You cannot send laminated documents.

As mentioned above, laminated documents are not accepted by HMPO, and generally not for official purposes in many countries in the West.

You may be better off contacting the issuing authority in India and requesting for another copy of the birth certificate to be issued.
