MN1 (3) application- does anybody know?

Post by Tire1Questions » Mon Feb 16, 2015 1:26 pm

Hello all,
Here is the time line for MN1 (3) application:
Eligibility criteria: 1(3)
Method of application: Posted Directely to: Home Office, Noth West Region, Nationality Team, PO Box 306, Liverpool, L2 0QN
Date of Application: 25 Jan 2015
Date of debit of fees: 02 Feb 2015
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 04 Feb 2015
Date of receipt of approval: awaiting
Date of receipt of registration certificate: awaiting

I have attached the following documents with application:
Application form
Date of Birth Certificate (child born in UK and never travelled outside UK since his birth)
My and my Wife's original BRP Card (ILR)
A photocopy of marriage certificate

I checked on MN1 timeline, everybody has received the approval within 2 weeks from the date of debiting the fee. Mine has not come though yet. The postman has been here today and nothing yet. Does anybody have any phone number to ring them to enquire about the progress?

On a separate note, I had applied for Child Tax benefit for the twins (above application). I have already sent them the birth certificates (original), photocopy of our BRP Cards, photocopy of our marriage certificates. No child passports as we never applied for their passport. HMRC is insisting the originals of my BRP Card (originals) and says that if I do not send the BRP Card to them they will return my application and I will loose the child benefit. They have given me the deadline as Feb 27, 2015 to submit. I have already written them telling that the documents are with home office. HMRC acknowledged my letter and asked me to provide the BRP originals by Feb 27, 2015 if I fail to do that, they say that my application for child benefit will be removed and I will loose any child tax credit. The application has been home office since August 2014.
Any suggestion please?

Why didn't you use NCS?
Applications can take up to 6 months so there is no definite time line.
You can check the MN1 timeline for avg processing time.

For tax benefits, you don't need to send BRP if you have had the ILR for more than 30 days.
I suppose you can request your original documents from HO but no guarantee they'll send them on time.
I wouldn't worry about tax credits application. If it's refused, all you have to do is make another one once you have the BRP.
