MN1 for UK born Child Questions

Post by A871SAR » Mon Apr 27, 2020 12:56 pm

Hi Again,

I need some clarification on how to register my new born child for Naturalization, I was granted ILR on 16.01.2020 through Tier2 company sponsorship. My baby was born on 27.12.2019. I have not registered him with Indian high commission yet thinking I could apply for his naturalization through Birth certificate. I managed to fill in the M1 form from my eldest child with her passport details however it’s asking Passport details of my new born, do I have to register my child for Indian passport first then apply or any other means to get it through.

Could you please guide me on this.

Regards,
A871SAR.

A UK born child does NOT need a foreign passport to REGISTER (adults are nautralised) as British.

Thank you for your advise, however, in the application it’s asking for Identification details in order to recognise the child even though I am acting as a guardian on behalf of child. Do I have to get birth registration done in India high commission.

NO!!

Also note that we do not all have sight of the online form but I am sure that there is an option to tick that you do NOT have a passport and then briefly explain.
