MN1 referee confirmation required please

Post by farzk » Sun Jan 03, 2016 2:29 pm

Hello All,

I have thoroughly gone through similar topics and found valuable information. My child is under 2 years and I am applying for his BC under section 1 (3). Like others, having difficulty in getting referees.

Can some one please confirm the below.

1) Is it mandatory for the first referee to be BC ?
2) Can the nursery carer/teacher be the referee ?
3) If the nursery refuses to be the referee, can I get my accountant to do that ? (he doesn't have professional with my child though). if yes, what shall he put in the question how you know ?

I will really appreciate your help & advise.

Regards..

1) No
2) Yes
3) Yes - for example: "family friend" (if they are a family friend)

Many thanks noajthan for your prompt reply.

One of my friend works in IT and is director of his limited company. Can he be the first referee ?

Should be acceptable if referee is a professional engineer &/or the company is VAT-registered.
See https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... ersons.pdf

Usual caveats apply including:
  • referee should not be a relative;
    nor work for HO;
    nor be your representative;
    nor have unspent convictions;

Children under 6 are only photographed for biometrics, not fingerprinted.
