Would someone be able to shed some light on the requirements for a naturalisation application intended to be made by my spouse, who is currently on ILR e-Visa (I'm a British Citizen).
Immigration situation so far -
24/07/2015 - Got Married.
11/11/2015 - "Spouse/Partner Visa" Granted (applied from outside of UK (India).
10/12/2015 - Wife arrived in the UK.
09/11/2016 - I (partner) was naturalised as BC.
06/08/2018 - Granted Further Leave To Remain for FLR(M) as a spouse/partner of a BC.
03/12/2018 - Surname change (marriage) BRP re-issued.
27/08/2020 - Life In The UK Test Passed (no certificate provided, only an email with the reference number).
04/06/2021 - ILR Granted via SET(M). UK NARIC certificates used for Academic Qualification Level and English Language Proficiency, based on Indian Bachelor's Degree.
My questions are around the requirement documents to be provided.
- ILR evidence - given my spouse is on the e-Visa now, how does one provide evidence of this? The ILR BRP card had expired in December 2024.
- LIUK Test - this was done in August 2020, would this still be valid? Or does one need to take this test again?
- English Language - NARIC is now ECCTIS - plus the NARIC certificates we've got, are over 5 years old. Can these still be used? Or do we need to re-apply for these?
- Proof of Residence - is the passport (with immigration stamps) enough for this? Or any other documents required to prove this?
- Good Character Declaration - just a declaration to be made? Or any documents needed for this?
- Also, does one need to be employed and/or show any income/tax/P60s etc.? My spouse is not employed, never have been - so, don't have any of these.
I'd be grateful for any replies.
Best regards,
Khaja.
