There is a question int he online application forms:
Non-applying dependants
Do you have any dependants not applying with you at this time
Is one's spouse who is a non EU national on a UK spouse visa count as dependent?
Yes re tax ref number.bookerw100 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 11:41 amHi couple of questions please
What is the tax office reference number - is it the PAYE reference on the p60?
Also in the employment questions, shall I also mention about the work I did when I was a student years ago? or just the Tier 2 employment
Hi are you sure about this? I would have thought the spouse is not a dependent?Casa wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 6:47 pmYesbookerw100 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 3:42 pmHi

For immigration purposes, your spouse is a dependent as they hold a visa dependent on you!!bookerw100 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 07, 2018 10:36 amHi are you sure about this? I would have thought the spouse is not a dependent?Casa wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 6:47 pmYesbookerw100 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 3:42 pmHi

According to guide AN (page 7), when filling in the application the date when the applicant enters the UK with the view of staying in the UK on a long-term basis should be provided. When you enter the UK as a student you do not intend to remain long-term therefore you should provide the date when you entered the UK after your studies. I am in a similar situation. I was in the UK in 2008-9 for studies, and then went back to my home country and reentered on a post study visa in 2011. When I was applying for a permanent residence as a family member of an EEA national I put the 2011 date as a date when I first entered the UK. I did include a cover letter explaining that I was in the UK on a student visa before but that I did not enter this date as this is not when I intended to stay in the UK long term. I did get the permanent residency. I am submitting an application for naturalisation atm and I am providing a similar cover letter explaining why I am giving the 2011 date as a date when I first entered the Uk and citing the guide AN p. 7.bookerw100 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 12:39 pmThe question says first enter. However the reason I asked is because I entered as a student and not using that as basis of citizenship. I am using my "5year ILR plus 1 year" route for citizenship.
I just checked page 7 on the guide again and it does state the date when the applicant enters the UK with the view of staying in the UK on a long-term basis should be provided.Lulona wrote: ↑Wed Dec 19, 2018 5:11 amAccording to guide AN (page 7), when filling in the application the date when the applicant enters the UK with the view of staying in the UK on a long-term basis should be provided. Good luck with your application.
