Naturalization Information

Post by frankto » Tue Apr 01, 2025 11:17 am

Hi All,

I am filing my naturalization application found a Issue with DOB and Birthplace of my parents, when I applied for business visit visa in 2016 and Tier 2 visa the date of birth and birth place was wrong compared to their recent passports details.

Old dates entered on visa applications:

Mother DOB OLD: xx-02-1965
Mother Birthplace OLD: XXXX city
Father DOB old:xx-04-1957
Father Birthplace OLD: XXXX city

New Dates on passport:

Mother DOB NEW: YY-04-1967
Mother Birthplace OLD: YYYY city
Father DOB old:xx-04-1957 unchanged
Father Birthplace OLD: YYYY city

The old dates are entered based on rough estimate as no official document with correct dates at that time, Place birth was entered as the city where we are living at that time for both, which date and place I need to fill in the application, Will this be a problem?
if I need to notify them where to do in the application?
Can I do this on my own or need to speak to a solicitor?
I got ILR in 2022, they got passports in 2023 and visited uk in 2024.

TIA

Did you mean to post this to the Ireland section of the forum?

You only mention UK Visas, visits to the UK, and UK ILR. Are you intending to apply from Northern Ireland to naturalise as an Irish citizen as the spouse of an Irish citizen, or have you posted to the wrong part of the forum?

Your parents details are not necessary unless you have a claim to citizenship through them. Just add the updated details.
