Need help on Qualifications section

Post by sameergk » Sun Jun 14, 2009 9:57 pm

Hi,
I have applied for extension of my leave under Tier1 on June 8th. I have already received a letter from UKBA stating that worked will be begun soon.

For claiming points for qualifications I have submitted my degree certificate and on the application form I have ticked against "qualification listed on Points based calculator ". Today I found out that there is a slight mismatch in the spelling of my educational institution on my degree with that listed on the points based calculator. ( "Visveswaraiah" on degree certificate and "Visvesvaraya" on PBC ). Apparently my institution changed the spelling sometime back... In hindsight I should have obtained a letter from NARIC.

Does anyone think that this could lead to rejection? Can I obtain it now and send it as an additional documentation?
Please help!

By the way I had submitted a NARIC letter at the time of applying for HSMP but did not tick the relevant section..

Thanks

If it is the same university and only spelling has changed than you would be fine. Many applicant from Bombay University are eligible to apply even though their univerity name is changed to Mumbai University.
It will be fine.

Hi Chetan,
Thanks . I hope the case worker does!

Does UKBA accept new evidences/documentation once after the application has been sent to them? I would like to send the NARIC letter just to be sure...

Think it other way around. If you have NARIC letter, that means your university is anyway recognised by HO.So if HO check validity of your University they already have information from NARIC.

If you think you will loose sleep over it,then you can send it.It will be upto caseworker to consider it or not.

Letter from NARIC will take 3 weeks (unless applied under urgent treatment route, if there is one now). You will be better-off sending a letter from the University/institution if possible. If nothing you can send an email stating the facts and providing a link to University's/institution's website if such information is available on the net.

Thanks for the inputs.
Going by the current processing times, I probably have another week before work is begun on my case... So if there isn't a fast track processing available from NARIC ( 2-3 days ) that wont work for me. shall check it tomorrow anyway. Same problem with getting a letter from my institution from India.

If nothing you can send an email stating the facts ...

An email? Please can you send me the ID?[/i]
