Need help with citizenship application

Post by Sadamkhan » Wed Jan 22, 2025 2:11 pm

I applied for neutralization application in December 2024. I just want to find out about good charactor. In Dec 2010 I got 5 years visa and in 2015 when I applied for PR but its refused because my wife didn't work for 2 years. Then I applied again and after 6 months in 2016 they gave another 5 years and in 2021 I applied for SS and its granted. Now my question is in 2015 when the Homeoffice refused my application and I waited 6 months will that effect my citizenship application? Please I will be very grateful from your help.
Thanks

Have you been an overstayer at any point? Only that would be a problem in your scenario. You submitted your application very recently so you probably just need to wait.

About overstayed I came to uk in 2007 illegally and I stay with my eu partner together till 2010 and in 2010 I applied for family member of eu national. I don't know if homeoffice will go all the way back to 2007.

They should only look at the last 10 years for that. Do you have any other adverse factor towards your good character?

No. since i came to uk my criminal record is very clean.
My worry is that in 2015 when homeoffice refused my application on the basis that my partner didn't work for 2 years. And I applied again and got another 5 years.
Thanks

You had a regular immigration status though. You just applied for a different visa after you were rejected, you didn't become an overstayer or anything. if you don't have any criminal proceedings, fines, FPNs, warnings etc you just need to wait and see what they come back with.
