It would be astonishing if the forthcoming changes were to have any effect on you, andhraguy.
IND are managing to keep their heads above the water with thier present workload, although certain areas seem hopelessly overburdened, judging by the delays we're hearing about on, eg, the long term resident provisions.
IMO, the last thing they are going to want is a load of people having to apply an unexpected term of FLR instead of just applying for ILR, which would get them "off the books". It just wouldn't make sense for them to impose the five year requirement overnight, IMO. Surely the most sensible way to do it would be to phase it in, so that the first people who it affects will be new arrivals, not people who are on the verge of qualifying under the present rules.
I doubt that someone in their third or fourth year will suddenly find themselves having to do a fifth.
I might be completely wrong, but that's my view, anyway....
