Not Physically present 5yrs ago

Post by gre.bm691 » Thu Sep 18, 2014 8:06 pm

Hi all

I am eligible for the Citizenship 26/09 onwards as that completes my one year on ILR (Through Tier 1 general).

I just checked my old passport and realized that I was not in the country between 21/09/2009 to 27/01/2010.

What does this imply? Do I need to wait till 27/01/2015 before I can apply? I know its clearly mentioned in the requirements:

You should also check that you were physically present in the UK 5 years (3 years if you are married to or in civil partnership with a British citizen) before the date that the application will be received by the Home Office

I wanted to know if there are others as me.

You would be better off to wait until 27th Jan 2015 onwards to apply, as not being present is a mandatory refusal and loss of the fee.
