Alex the Warrior unregistered | Posted May 25, 2002 11:43 AM As far as UK is concerned you can have other citizenships (they dont ask exclusivity), however, your other countrY(ies) should also permit it, and as far as I know you can only have one passport in the USA. |
herman Member Member # 12 | Posted May 27, 2002 12:35 AM I thought that US law allows for dual citizenship, as long as the dual nationality holder does not serve in a non-US armed forces, or uses a US passport for travel to and from the US. Aside from that, a US national may take another nationality without giving up US citizenship. However, if you are becoming a national of a state that does not permit dual citizenship [like Germany] then you lose your US nationality upon German naturalisation. |
