I have been reading about Hector's assurances that it's no problem for an existing work permit holder in UK to apply and get a new work permit if he wishes to change the job even after the removal of IT skills from shortage list. And he is giving a link to a private page which says that some 30000 IT and telecom jobs are unfilled.

My question is, the home office very clearly says that all the IT related jobs must be considered under Tier 2(where residential labour test is required) now. Nowhere it says that they accept Tier 1 applications for IT jobs. http://www.workpermits.gov.uk/default.asp?pageid=3125

Hector, can you be a bit more clear with proper proofs because it sounds misleading to me. I will appreciate anybody throwing some light on this issue because this is very important if anybody wants to change job now. There is no point in try and get a new job and apply for wp and finally be rejected and you will be nowhere.

Hi.

You've clearly misread some of my posts. There's a difference between getting a work permit for the first time and a change-of-employment application.

The "unofficial" link you're referring to is a summary of the quarterly bulletin generated by e-skills.com . This is the bulletin WPUK uses to decide the changes on the shortage occupations list for IT.

A change-of-employment application will be tier 1 if the job remains the same or it's listed under shortage occupations; otherwise it will be tier 2. That's very clearly stated in the corresponding section of http://www.workpermits.gov.uk/default.asp?PageId=2021 .

Like I always say, you're entitled to not believe what I or anybody says. Always go to the official source (in this case www.workpermits.gov.uk ) and read, read, read.

Hector is right, he has never written the things you attribute to him.
Ruben - next time read more carefully before you jump into conclusions. This is especially true before you recklessly try to undermine other people credibility.
