planB Junior Member Member # 6833	Posted October 28, 2003 08:44 PM Does anyone know what the rules/consequences are regarding being posted outside of the UK while having a UK workpermit and working on behalf of a UK based company? What restrictions are there concerning length of time spent abroad, nature of work, etc? What if for example, the WP holder is asked to go abroad to complete a project for say 6months to a year, because this would be to the benefit of the project? Can anyone shed a light on this? Cheers.

For example, Say you have a WP that is still valid for 2 years, you could stay out as long as 1 yr and 11 months or so and come back before the Wp expires. Of course, such a long absence would have an negative impact on your ILR application.
