I had sent my H1 visa to the US dept. of state for its revalidation, but they have sent my passport and I797A back saying that my photo was non-standard and the employer's letter was not in detail (they stamped my old visa as "cancelled without predudice" in the passport)
I need to travel India also, do you think that I should go ahead to India and get it restamped there with proper documents or I should stay here back and get it done in US only which is going to take another 3-4 months.
Do you think this could be a problem in India?

Please suggest me, I will really appreciate your efforts in this regard. Thanks a lot.

If your case is straightforward, and you can secure the "right" letter from employer and pictures, I think going to India for your bona fide needs, and renewing the visa there should be faster.

I am not sure though what particular concerns one may encounter at a US embassy in India (such as, long processing times).
