Hi all,

it appears that my current employer (a global company) operates such a policy that they cannot give me a reference before I quit. I think I asked a lawyer in London if assignment/secondment letters can work and he answered yes. I have the option to supply contracts as well but would prefer the assignment letters. Do you think this can work? They state the dates of employement (a couple of letters for 3-6 months) and a sentence about the work to be done.

Or you think I should go for the contracts instead?

Thanks in advance
Cheerz

Both are best but if its one or the other the contracts - you need to submit docs that detail the tasks/ work done and your responsibilities/achievements...docs simply stating that 'mr/ms x is employed by company y as a z' won't get you nowhere in HSMP applications (I presume this is what it is you are applying for).

Yeah, right..Thanks for replying..
.. but this is something confidential to the company? Do you think it may work if the company is top100 and if the client is famous all across UK? Or if I include my year reviews? I wonder if it worths as I have references for 4 years even without this one..

Fame/top 100 does not replace requirement for detail - what it does is that it eases HSMP Team concerns about such being fake/fraudulent. The contracts I refer to are employment contracts detailing your duties and responsibilities..do you not have these? What detail is in your reviews/appraisals - these are also appropriate if descriptive rather than mere factuals of you being a 'position'.

Ths Kaya!
after all assignment and contracts is all I have. I sign a new contract every 3 months so I can send some. I'll just decide which of contract and assignment letters have more information. Ths again.

Kaya, Do you mean being worked for top 100 does make a diff. or advantage for HSMP application?

Just for curiousity are you female or male? Unable to guess. You seems to be a south indian female. Indian because I know you do understand hindi.
