Hi,

Ok, here is my story in a nutshell. I was born in Holland and emigrated to US with my parents when I was 4. Parents naturalized when I was 17, but did nothing about my citizenship, they assumed I would choose for myself. Turns out, according to the US I have been a citizen the whole time (I am now 27). I still have a dutch passport, a green card, the whole thing. My question is...if I apply for a certificate of citizenship (US) what date would it have on it? The date I apply or when my parents became citizens? Is my green card invalid? I have been signing statements that I have not lost my dutch citizenship every time I apply for a new passport, so now what? Can I not go through the naturalization process myself, since it wasn't my parents intent to naturalize me when they did? Pleass help!

Sorry, but this is really a question about US nationality...could you post it on the US board, and a US consultant will advise you.
