anasimone Junior Member Member # 1714 | Posted January 25, 2002 04:59 PM I have dual citizenship, Canadian and Polish. I arrived in London 3 years ago on a two year working holiday visa on my Canadian passport. When this expired I received a one year student visa, and shall complete my program in March. I have been told that I am eligible for a work permit on my Polish passport according to the EEA agreement with Poland, enabling me to start a business in the UK. I would like to do this but am a bit apprehensive because I do not know the proper guidelines that need to be followed when using two passports, and I do not want to do anything that may haunt me in the future. Do you know the procedure for doing this and the legalities to consider? Thanks in advance. |
Marcis Member Member # 4 | Posted January 29, 2002 03:19 PM Hi, Yes, you are potentially eligible to apply for a UK visa under the EAA association agreement. Also, you may lodge your visa application 'in-country', i.e. without leaving the UK. Please have a look at the following section of our website for more information on this, as well as to submit an online query to us: Best wishes -------------------- Marcis Gobins, Consultant |
