But according to rules, my understanding is that, I cannot take my wife on Dependent Visa until I complete my three months work experience in Ireland. Based on the discussions I had with my friend, he said even dependent visa will also be given for 3 months only. So I am wondering whether I can take my wife to Ireland on Tourist Visa and convert as dependent visa in Ireland. My understanding is that, we can obtain the tourist visa very fast. Please advice me, which would be the best way? whether to take her on tourist visa and then convert as dependent visa or wait for three months and obtain the dependent Visa Thanks a lot -------------------- skp

Just come to Ireland, get all the papers done, find a place to live etc - this will already take a month. Then come back and try to convince Irish embassy to issue her a dependant's visa, as you now have everything to support her. Irish authorities sometimes do not know their own rules, especially when it comes to this new Work Visa. It's worth trying anyway

as far as I know (my friends did this), sometimes it is possible to bring your family before 3 months time passes. Just come to Ireland, get all the papers done, find a place to live etc - this will already take a month.
