I am a Filipina and is presently in Germany. I had been here for six (6) months and I am scheduled to go home for my Visa will expire on the 30th June. Problem is I got sick recently and stayed in the Hospital for a week. At the moment I am under medication and my Doctor did not allow me to travel. I was required to stay for 2 weeks more due to some check up as well. I am going back home just to renew my Visa and then come back to Germany again. My question is will they questioned me in the Immigration once they see that I am leaving with an Expired Visa? Of course I have a letter or certificate to show them from my Doctor. Also, can I still come back to Germany since I stayed here for six (6) months already? Would appreciate very much if someone can make a comments on this. Thank you very much in advance.

Hi,

I think you should apply to the Immigration department to extend you stay (which is very much unlikely to be granted) on medical grounds with appropriate Hospital documentation, etc.
But leaving the country after the Visa expires will be a real problem (and should be avoided even in extreme cases) - atleast when you try to re-enter the country as the immigration may say you had already violated your previous stay.

So please apply to the Immigration authorities soon (as you have just 3-4 days left in your visa) to get their approval to extend your stay in the country on medical grounds.

Good luck to you.

regards.

Dear C.Borlaza,

Yes, the Ausländerbehörde is the office you should turn to. User is right in that you should definitely approach them ASAP. And be sure to bring all possible letters from the hospital where you are being treated etc.

Good luck!

Dear Marcis and User,

Thank you very much for your valuable advice. I just went to the Ausländer Behörde today and got my 15 days extension.

By the way, would you know (or heard from other people experience) if I can get another three (3-Month Visa for Germany since I would like to go back here. Kindly please comment.

Thank you very much again and all the best.

With Kind Regards,
C. Borlaza
