vasilva Junior Member Member # 6940 | Posted February 25, 2003 01:32 PM I'm Canadian citizen and would like to obtain more info how to get a work permit in Ireland. I would be interested to move and live there. I have IT background - SAP ABAP. |
Bobblewait Member Member # 6527 | Posted February 25, 2003 04:26 PM Your best bet is probably to direct this question to one Mr Mohammad Asim Makki who has started the famous "Everyone for Ireland" thread. Once "i finish up dealing with all these people who are in the process of immegation to Ireland ..." I am sure he would be happy to help you. |
ooooops Member Member # 6703 | Posted February 26, 2003 07:29 AM bobble, it was funny in the beginning but now its sounds very boring. |
Bobblewait Member Member # 6527 | Posted February 26, 2003 11:31 AM I don't know...I'm still having fun. If you're not, tune out. |

dmitriyf Junior Member Member # 6950 | Posted March 03, 2003 01:42 PM vasilva, I'm looking into it myself. AFAIK, you do not need work permit to do IT job. You only need work authorization from Irish embassy. To obtain work authorization you have to have job offer only. Your future employer does not have to fill any additional papers, neither pay. I've heard some cases where such authorization has been obtained in 15 mitutes. And with this authorization, valid 2 years you are free to change your employer. |
dmitriyf Junior Member Member # 6950 | Posted March 05, 2003 02:20 PM vasilva, I cannot reply to you in private - the workpermit.com claims you do not accept private messages! I'm in Toronto and exactly in the same situation like yours. |

dmitriyf Junior Member Member # 6950 | Posted April 13, 2003 03:10 PM Not sure. Job market is dead in Canada for IT. The best way to come, I think, is independent immigration. |
Morgen Junior Member Member # 6986 | Posted April 13, 2003 07:40 PM It(Independent immigration) takes time till death |
Bobblewait Member Member # 6527 | Posted April 19, 2003 11:22 AM Only a few years. Small price to pay to escape from many crappy countries around the world... |
