This is reqarding changes/amendment made by the NZIS under General Skills category for migrating to New Zealand.

Today, I came to know that under General Skills category the passmark is increased from 24 points to 25 points w.e.f January, 2002. What if I apply before Jan 2002. I intend to apply in the month of December 2001. What passmark would be applicable to me? Pls advice. Thanks Sanjay sachdev19@hotmail.com

Hi Sanjay

No, the new passmark only comes into effect on January 1st, 2002, so if you applied in December, you would only need to score 24 points in your application. You need to ensure that you have done your NZQA assessment by that time (if your qualifications are not from an institution on the LORQ) and submit ALL applicable documents, otherwise your application will not be accepted and will be returned to you. Then if you submit your application with all relevant documentation in January, your application will be tested against the new pass mark.

Let me know how we can help!
