Hi !,

Thinking about residency in New Zealand, and I have a few questions :

1) The London office web site talks about 4-6 month average .... I am planning to go in 9 months (OZ first for 6 months) is that sailing too close to the wind ?

2) Do you have to attend an interview (i.e. could I get all my paperwork in then go to Oz) ?

3) I'm a bit confused by the re-entry visa, is it automatically granted when you enter the country with a Residency visa.

The whole residency thing looks a real pain, one alternative I've consider is this :

Both my Wife and I have what I think would be considered skills on the shortage lists (I'm in IT and she is a nurse), so would it be too risky just going out there on visitors visas and then applying for jobs, I believe as our jobs are on a skills shortage list the employer wouldn't have to prove there were not suitable Kiwis and we could get work visas for the duration of our jobs up to 3 years ?
What do you think, any comments / suggestions / warnings welcome

Thanks

Paul
