Say i get my Australia green card. Is it true i can land in australia and leave to come back to the US and have five years to decide whether to go back?

i think you can't leave aussie permanently immediatly after your pr,must stay there for atleast 2 yrs and they also have something for renewal of re-entry to aussie as pr and i believe there should be some firm rules and regulations to that renewal!

i think all green cards are the same,cannot stay out of the country for very long!

a visit to aussi immi web site will be of more use to you!

Actually, you are right in that once you are granted a PR visa you need to enter Australia initially between 6-9 months from the date the visa is granted, and then you can travel back and forth for up to five years before you are required to "settle".

If you intend to apply for Ozzie citizenship, however, then you need to be resident continually in Australia.
