I live and work in USA and i have H1B Visa. I want to apply for Australian Immigration. Its almost impossible for me to go back to my country of origin and get the police certificate. What do i need to do? Is there any way they can get police clearance through Australian Embassy in that country.

Hi,

What you can do is approach Indian Ebbassy in US and get it done.
Atleast thats what guys in the Midle East do.
You need to submit your passport and they charge you for the services.

Hope this helps

Thanks a lot guys. Lakkee , one of my indian co-worker also sugguested me to do the same but i am Pakistani Citizen. I contacted Pakistan Embassy in US and their response was extremly disappointing. Under these circumstances if i am unable to obtain Police Certificate from Islamabad,Pakistan What kind of response i should expect from DIMA ? and According to Law what they are supposed to do?

Hi ora-dev

You should try to get a family member or friend from Pakistan to lodge the police certificate application on your behalf in Pakistan because the Australian immigration authorities will not approve your application without proof that you have no convictions in Pakistan.

Hope this helps!
