India tourist Visa - forward dated

Hi All

Wanted to apply for a tourist visa soon in advance for a trip i would like to do in October 2022

is it possible to apply now and request to have the start issue date of the Visa from Oct?

Visa is applicable from the date of your application cant be forwarded, though you could mention your date of travel and obtain a visa for an year instead of 3 months.

As far as i'm aware indian tourist visas are valid for 12 months now, they have stopped issuing shorter durations visas.
