Passport for child born in Philippines with British father

I am a British citizen by birth, my son was born in 2012 to my girlfriend who is a Philippines national. One of the documents required seems to be "Passports at time of conception", however the mother's passport at the time was lost and a new one was not gotten till around 2 months after conception, would it be ok to submit this passport? We are both living in China, would it better to apply for our son's British passport in China or the Philippines?

What was your son's date of birth?

Are you named as the father on his birth certificate?

I sense it was probably abroad but it does make a difference so better to be clear.

Tricky one for the future this too, Filipinos aren't allowed to divorce I believe, so if immigration to UK is planned - going to be somewhat difficult.

Annulment is a possibility but right now our concern is getting our child's passport. Could her marital status affect that even though I am named on the birth certificate?

The complete birth date in 2012 is important for unmarried fathers.

However, if the child's mother was still legally married, then for the purposes of the British Nationality Act, the child's father is deemed to be the child's mother's husband.

No insensitivity intended. In PH there are varying degrees of husband.
Was previous husband a legally married spouse or an informal live-in husband? (who in normal conversation could still be referred to as a 'husband').

Vinny, I have of course the complete birth date but I don't deem it necessary to reveal on here. As long as it was after 2006 it doesn't matter.

Noahthan I'm not sure if they were legally married but they have been separated since 2005 and we have been together since 2007.

A CENOMAR, issued by the NSO, is an official Philippine document certifying whether or not the holder is unmarried
ie CErtificate of NO MArriage

A Cenomar would very useful if not vital to establish without a doubt the existence/legality of any previous marriage in the Philippines.

For example, a Filipina leaving the country to join a fiancee abroad (on a foreign fiancee visa) is required to present this document in order to obtain an exit stamp & leave the country.
In general terms, it would be useful evidence in connection with any application for a foreign spouse visa too.

To apply for a 1st British passport, when an overseas-born child has been registered as a UK citizen, a child applicant only needs to provide:
registration certificate;
any uncancelled passport;
photos;

I see nothing that relates to any checks on marital status of parents.
