No entry stamp and evidence of absences

Post by seyduna2017 » Sun Aug 25, 2024 4:59 pm

Dear members,

I am a Turkish citizen and have ILR status. I will apply for the citizenship soon. After I got ILR status, my passport was not stamped when I entered the UK several times. Unfirtunately, I do not have boarding cards with me for some of these trips. How can I prove my absences with a couple of missing entry stamps in my passport? If I submit P60s, payslips and council tax bills, would this be enough?

If you can advise I appreciate

Regards

A couple of missing stamps are unlikely to be a problem, if you can remember the dates of your trips. If you really want to submit further evidence, don't submit bills. P60s/employment letters that cover the period will be enough.

Proof of knowledge of English question

Post by seyduna2017 » Tue Sep 17, 2024 7:47 pm

Dear all,

I am applying for British citizenship and in the application form, there is a question like that "Do you have a previous visa, entry clearance or leave to remain where you had to prove your knowledge of English?"

When I came to the UK first time with Tier-4 student visa, my college in the UK recognized my knowledge of English (as the language of education in my home country was English). Upon graduation, I got a Tier-2 visa and I proved my english because of a recognized UK master's degree. After several years, I changed job and got Skilled worker visa (with the same proof of language) and I got ILR status with that UK diploma again.

For the naturalisation, should I put my latest visa application (ILR) in the box or all of previous visas?

Separately, do I need to provide unique visa application number for these application/applications or should I just state the name of my visa?

If you can advise, I appreciate

Regards

Acceptable professional persons for reference

Post by seyduna2017 » Mon Oct 07, 2024 6:11 pm

Dear members,

I am going to apply for British Citizenship soon and I have one professional referee who is working as Director in a very well-known financial services company (not a bank). My second referee is British citizen and over 25 (hence there is no issue)

Bank or building society officials are listed as acceptable but I am not sure about a financial services company.

His title is Director though. Can this person be considered acceptable referee as a "director, manager or personnel officer of a VAT registered company"?

If you can advise, much appreciated, regards

Should be ok, financial services companies are normally VAT registered.

Passport photo in the referee declaration form

Post by seyduna2017 » Tue Oct 08, 2024 10:16 pm

Dear members,

This may be an easy question but can someone please advise what 'Passport photo' refers to in the Referee Declaration form?

https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... on_MN1.pdf

I have an existing passport from my home country and the photo in that passport is more than 1 year old.

Does 'passport photo' in the referee form refer to that photo on my home country passport, or do I need to use a more recent photo (which would be different than my current passport photo)?

If you can advise, I appreciate, thanks

A passport size recent photo - not the same one you have on your passport.

@seyduna2007 Can you please keep ALL your questions about the same application in ONE topic, this one now merged. It is not necessary to start a new topic with every question you have!!

thank you for your answer. But this person is a Director of a unit in a global company. Does 'Director' refer to very top level manager and/or owner of a business in citizenship application, or is Director title for managers of a unit/department in a global company accepted?

Dear members,

I submitted online citizenship aplication and booked biometrics appointment. What is the deadline for submission of documents? Can we submit anytime before the appointment or is there a specific deadline?

Thanks, is this based on working days or calendar days?
