PBS dependant visa extension - possible to request only 1 year extension?

Post by hxpham » Mon Mar 25, 2024 11:03 am

Dear community,

My 5-year Skilled worker visa will expire in May 2024, and I will apply for ILR. The problem is, my family members have only lived in UK for 4 years (they joined me 1 year after I started working here). So they will need visa extension. I wonder, is it possible to apply for 1-year extension only (so that we only need to pay for 1-year NHS surcharge)?

Thank you in advance!

No, not possible. It is a 3 year extension as stated in the immigration rules. Ukvi have no discretion to give a lesser time if the main applicant applies for and is granted ilr

Thank you for prompt reply!

I'm willing to pay if there's no other way, but still it's kind of unfortunate to pay so much for surcharges ...
