PBS Visa extension for family members

Post by jainvikas8 » Mon Feb 03, 2025 9:03 am

Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice to get the extension of visa for PBS dependents
Background:
I was granted leave to enter the UK as a Tier 2 (General) Migrant/Skilled Worker in April 2017. Applied for Indefinite Leave to Remain in March 2022 and was granted in September 2022.

Observation:
My wife was from the UK between March 2021 and March 2022 for her maternity leave in India, I'm unable to apply for ILR due to a gap in her stay. She got her dependent visa in August 2019
* Can we proceed with the extension application using the Skilled worker/Tier 2 general route?

If yes, I'm filling the PBS, Start-up, Innovator or Global Talent dependant partner form:
* The CoS used in my previous tier 2 extension application has already expired (Apr 2019 to Apr 2022), can we still use that to extend their visa on the same route? The form doesn't accept it, do we need a new CoS or can the end date be modified to a later date? (just to make sure, the extension is granted for 3 years)

* What's with the medical treatment section, My wife can not remember how many times she visited the GP, should we just mention the registration date (at the Surgery) and mark it as currently receiving treatment?

Any update please?

Also I understand that the clock for ILR is reset (4 years 11 months) in my wife's case from 14th March 2022, when she returned from her maternity leave, But her visa is valid until 12th Apr 2025, So we apply only for 2 year extension that way IHS cost can be saved? As she will be eligible for ILR after Feb 14th 2027?

Thanks.

Her extension will be for 3 years, as dicated by the immigration rules. You cannot choose to apply for less.

Thanks for the reply.

What about the CoS dates and medical treatment section?

The form application calculates 2.5 years of IHS fees for the dependant partner and child, Is that possible?

If there is a shortage, the UKVI would ask for additional payment, therefore paid the IHS 2.5-year fee.

Further, what is the PBS-dependent visa fee for a partner and child?
Looking at https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... tober-2024 it should be £827, but getting £1638 per applicant?
