Post by Gedk66 » Sun Apr 27, 2014 1:51 am

Hello folks,
Can anyone tell me what is the waiting time for the Foreign Birth Registry to provide certificates after we've applied please?

Heard of some people from USA/Canada getting it in about 3-4 months. Don't think that is true for all applicants - sometimes it can take agesssssssss. I think it's a bit of a waiting game...

It depends on where you apply. Last year the London embassy was only taking a few days.

I submitted mine to the Chicago Consulate about a month ago and just e-mailed them yesterday to find out how long it would take. The response:

It is a minimum of 12 months for processing time.
