Requesting original documents is it possible?

Post by waltwalter » Wed Jun 10, 2015 3:15 pm

I applied for naturalisation on 22/05/15 and UKBA took fees out on 08/06/15.

I applied by post so sent all my original documents like passport, BRP etc.

Is there anyway I can request my passport and BRP card back? My bank is asking for original documents for mortgage application.

I believe if I withdraw application I will loose money is it true?

Can anyone please let me know if it's possible?

You can only do it online - https://www.gov.uk/visa-documents-returned.
Just be careful with your box-ticking. There's where it asks if you're withdrawing the application.

Did you apply from within either England, Wales or Scotland? If yes and you needed your documents back, perhaps NCS was a better idea. Now its up to them to retain or return at their convenience. I hope your second call finds a better person but its just a chance now. Likely delays are possible though you can try the link given by WeepNotChild. :)
