And were you driving on an international driving permit at the time?
Did you get a Basic Disclosure done, as I had suggested before?

BTW, motoring convictions are not civil matters but criminal matters.

Yes I got DBS and shows no convictions
I ticked yes on section 7 with criminal conviction and stated the fine and points.

So I can tick no for ques 7.3?

So, you have no criminal conviction (as there is nothing on the DBS report) but despite a confirmation of "no conviction" you have answered "yes" to 7.1!
Why?

When one uses an international driving permit in UK, the police cannot fine the accused on the spot because the police has no jurisdiction over international driving permits. The matter, as a standard procedure, is forwarded to and is dealt with by the court. A fine imposed by a judge in these circumstances is not necessarily a conviction but usually an FPN.

Under such circumstances, I don't think you even know for sure whether you were even convicted in 2011 or not! So, best that you err on the side of caution and answer "yes" to 7.1 and provide necessary details as asked.

Thanks sushmehta .

Just to clarify that section 7.3 civil judgment or penalty only refers to CCJs right?
I have searched through Trustonline and nothing is registered under my name. So i believe I can tick no

ILR approved at Sheffield PEO

Post by Foreigner123 » Mon Aug 24, 2015 2:54 pm

Hi All

I am happy to say that I got my ILR approved via Tier 2 General at Sheffield PSC today.

Arrived at 740am for my 8am appointment.
Registered at 749am and got my results at 927am!
All in less than 2 hours

My case isn't a straightforward one as I had a motoring conviction back in 2011.

A massive thank you to moderator - sushmehta and a few group members - montysingh, MMC and fqvision. They provided useful advice and their time to explain.
I truly appreciate and am thankful!!

Docs I submitted

I have got the following docs

1. Employer letter confirming soc salary hours and needing me for the job
2. Letter from employer stating I have 5 weeks paid annual leave
3. Passport and brp card
4. Life in UK test certificate
5. 6 months bank statements
6. 6 months payslips
7. P60s x 5 years
8. Council tax and utility bills
9. UK masters degree certificate
10. Basic disclosure report
11. SAR from Acro Police

I hope this helps

Regards
